Data Inra: How Europe’s top agricultural research institute, INRA, uses Dataverse to improve data sharing

L’Institut national de la recherche agronomique (INRA), or the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, updated their Dataverse-based repository in late January 2019. This repository, called Portail Data Inra, is used as an institutional data repository and a data registry. Indeed, it is possible to keep the data in the original places and create datasets in Portail Data Inra with links towards those files.

In this article, Esther Dzalé Yeumo, head of INRA’s Department of Scientific Information, explains how and why INRA chose and set up Dataverse and how the repository helps improve the organization’s culture of data sharing.
